Stryn - Hellesylt - Geiranger - Hellesylt - Stryn Note! Due to a termporary changes of the Hellesylt-Geiranger ferry quay from 16th October, the season for this trip ends 15th October. On this trip you can explore the charming village of Hellesylt, experience a wonderful ferry cruise on the Geirangerfjord and have a wander around Geiranger. You start in Stryn, and after about 20 minutes the bus drives past Hornindalsvatnet lake. This lake is known for being the deepest in Northern Europe (514m), and since “the old days” stories has been told about what creatures exist in the depth. Maybe you get lucky and will see a sea monster when you drive past? When you arrive at Hellesylt, you have some time to look around. Between the bus stop and the ferry harbourd you find the Hellesyltfossen waterfall. This is a mighty waterfall and is one of the most photographed sites in the area. It’s an impressive sight early in the summer when all the snow melts. At Hellesylt you also find the Per Gynt Galleri. The main purpose of the gallery is to present the enormous wooden reliefs by artist and woodcarver Oddvin Parr (1933 - 2010). The works goes from floor to ceiling, and all the motives are from the Norwegian author Henrik Ibsen's work "Peer Gynt". The trip continues by ferry to Geiranger. The ferry cruise from Hellesylt to Geiranger takes 1 hour, and while cruising down the fjord you can see beautiful waterfalls and small farms in the steep mountain sides. In Geiranger you will have time for some sightseeing, shopping, and perhaps a visit to the Norwegian Fjord Centre which are only a few minutes on foot from the centre of Geiranger and located next to Hotel Union. The trip back to Stryn goes along the same route; ferry to Hellesylt and bus from Hellesylt to Stryn. When you book this trip, you will receive an e-mail with a ticket that is valid for the whole trip. You will also receive a tour description that contains detailed information about departure times and where you must change to another bus, boat of ferry – when applicable.
