Ålesund - Molde - the Atlantic Road - Kristiansund This trip takes you from Ålesund via Molde to Kristiansund via what is often described as the world’s most beautiful road – the Atlantic Road. You can enjoy the view of the Atlantic Road and the fascinating surroundings from the bus! On the way, you have some time in Molde to walk around this charming town between the fjord and the hills. Molde offers a magnificent view towards the fjord and the mountains on the other side, and has a multitude of shops, cafés, etc. With its location at the edge of the mighty ocean, the Atlantic Road is as beautiful in sunshine and calm weather as in full storm and rain. The Atlantic Road connects Averøy with the mainland via a series of small islands and islets spanned by a total of eight bridges over 8274 meters. The Atlantic Road – Atlanterhavsvegen - is a Norwegian Scenic Route. Norwegian Scenic Routes are selected roads that run through landscapes with unique natural qualities, along coasts and fjords, mountains and waterfalls. The routes are intended as alternatives to the main roads, and the drive itself should be an enjoyable experience. On the Norwegian Scenic Routes web page you can read more about Norwegian Scenic Route Atlanterhavsvegen. Note! This bus drives along the Atlantic Road but does not stop at the Eldhusøya service centre or anywhere else close to the Atlantic Road sights. It is a public bus, running on a time schedule and there are no photo stops or other breaks during the trip. Kristiansund is Norway’s klippfisk («cliff fish») town, with rich traditions for bacalao and other klippfisk dishes, that are served in several restaurants in town. Kristiansund also has a varied cultural offering and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. From “Varden” you have a splendid view of the town and if you want to further see Kristiansund by sea you can take a trip with Sundbåten. When you book this trip, you will receive an e-mail with a ticket that is valid for the whole trip. You will also receive a tour description that contains detailed information about departure times and where you must change to another bus, boat of ferry – when applicable.
