Ålesund via the Atlantic Road (one way)

From NOK 179

Kristiansund - Kårvåg - the Atlantic Road - Molde - Ålesund

This trip goes from Kristiansund via the Atlantic Road - often described as the world’s most beautiful road – to Molde and Ålesund.

The Atlantic Road connects Averøy with the mainland via a series of small islands and islets spanned by a total of eight bridges over 8274 meters. With its location at the edge of the mighty ocean, the Atlantic Road is as beautiful in sunshine and calm weather as in full storm and rain.

The Atlantic Road – Atlanterhavsvegen - is a Norwegian Scenic Route. Norwegian Scenic Routes are selected roads that run through landscapes with unique natural qualities, along coasts and fjords, mountains and waterfalls. The routes are intended as alternatives to the main roads, and the drive itself should be an enjoyable experience. On the Norwegian Scenic Routes web page you can read more about Norwegian Scenic Route Atlanterhavsvegen.

Note! This bus drives along the Atlantic Road but does not stop at the Eldhusøya service centre or anywhere else close to the Atlantic Road sights. It is a public bus, running on a time schedule and there are no photo stops or other breaks during the trip.

In Molde you have some time to walk around this charming town between the fjord and the hills. Molde offers a magnificent view towards the fjord and the mountains on the other side, and has a multitude of shops, cafés, etc.

From Molde you travel via Vestnes and Sjøholt to Ålesund. This part of the trip includes a ferry trip that offers a great view back on Molde and to the surrounding mountains. Along the rest of the route you can enjoy the beautiful mountain and fjord landscape.

Ålesund is the largest town in Møre and Romsdal county. The town is known for its art noveau buildings and offers a wide selection of shops, restaurants/cafés and actitivies. If you have time, you must walk up to the Aksla “town mountain” and Fjellstua. There are stairs up from the town centre, with view points and benches on the way up. From the top you can see the whole town, in addition to the fjord and islands around Ålesund. Another popular place to visit is the aquarium at Atlanterhavsparken.

When you book this trip, you will receive an e-mail with a ticket that is valid for the whole trip. You will also receive a tour description that contains detailed information about departure times and where you must change to another bus, boat of ferry – when applicable.
